“Knowledge, you see, has no uses without purpose, but purpose is what builds enclosing walls.”
- Leto Atreides II, Children of Dune
Hi, I’m Soumya.
Bio, maths and books are the 3 loves of my life. And I try to capture some bits of those, and other stuff I fall in love with, on this personal blog.
A lot of the early posts were explainers. But since AI came along, I’ve often asked why am I writing in public, when AI can explain a lot.
I’m yet to come up with a satisfactory answer to that, but David Brooks offers a partial one in The Second Mountain:
I’ve written this book, in part, to remind myself of the kind of life I want to live. Those of us who are writers work out our stuff in public, even under the guise of pretending to write about someone else. In other words, we try to teach what it is that we really need to learn.
I’m also the maker of Telborg - an app that makes it easy to read verified Global Climate and Energy news.
